All of our classes are offered on a sliding scale. Use the income guide to help choose your price, then pay the amount that feels right for your budget. Minimum 2 participants for class to run. Are you ready to dive into the world of sewing and create amazing projects? Join our 3 session beginner sewing course, designed to teach you the essentials of sewing and build your confidence with each class. This course is perfect for those new to sewing or looking to refresh their skills! Open to complete beginners. We provide machines, thread, and tools. What You'll Learn: Week 1 : Pillowcase - Sewing Machine Mastery: Get comfortable with your sewing machine, learning threading, basic stitches, and troubleshooting. - Essential Techniques: French seams, pinning, pressing, pivoting, tube turning, trimming seam allowances, and more. Week 2: Drawstring Bag -Basic Bag Construction: Learn the essentials of constructing a drawstring bag, from cutting fabric to assembling the pieces. - Sewing Techniques: Practice sewing straight seams, creating casings for drawstrings, boxed bottoms, and finishing your bag with professional touches. Week 3: Apron - Skill Building: Topstitching, sewing on bias edges, hemming, making a drawstring, creating divided pocket. This project usually takes a little longer than the allotted class period. You might want to add a little cushion to your time this day. Supplies You Need to Provide: Week 1 - WE provide materials for your first project, the pillowcase. Week 2 - 2 - fat quarters (18'x22"), we provide drawstrings. Week 3 - 1.5 yards cotton (mid-weight like duck, denim, or twill), we provide drawstring Please make sure you can attend all classes before scheduling. We can't offer makeups for missed classes.
